Lee DeWyze Got "One Hour" of Sleep After Winning Idol

After winning American Idol, Lee DeWyze is... tired.
When asked by UsMagazine.com how much sleep he got, the 24-year-old Illinois resident said, "Last night I got one!"

Is taking a nap on the celebration schedule?
"We'll see, I got a whole list of things I have to take care of," says DeWyze, who was a paint store clerk before winning the Fox show. "I'm looking forward to it all, but at the end of it, I'm definitely going to take a nice, long nap."

Looking back on the experience, DeWyze said, "It's amazing... you audition in the beginning and your goal is to get to [the show], and once you're there, you want to win, and I got there. It was me and Crystal [Bowersox], and I have so much respect for her. It could have been either one of us, but I'm glad that I won! It's just been an unbelievable amazing experience and it's been a whirlwind ever since."
DeWyze will fete his win with those closest to him: "I'm laying low and enjoying the moment with my family while I can and preparing for the next step."

DeWyze says it was "really cool to be a part" Simon Cowell's final show.
"His last season, I won, so that's intense," he says.
He wants to make a "folk/rock/alternative" album after the Idol tour wraps up this summer. "I wanna try a bunch of different things. I'm not narrow when it comes to music. I have a broad view on it. We'll see what happens when I get into the studio!"
When asked whose career he'd like to emulate, DeWyze said, "I'd like to create me own, do my own thing and really put my own stamp on it. I kinda want to just see what happens."

16thetruth, Taylor Hicks is a loser. He was dropped from his record label after the first album. The dude has no star quality. Lee, we'll see about him. He is likeable though.
Taylor Hicks is a much better performer and singer than Lee. Lightyears better. Taylor knows how to entertain an audience - he's an incredible blues and soul singer and has parlayed that talent into other facits of the entertainment biz, making a coool $3.5 million last year. Lee? He'll be lucky to shine his shoes in 4 years.

Congratulations to Lee; he did show the most improvement throughout. Crystal is great also as is Casey James. I, too, love Aaron; he has a good future ahead of him. I do not in any way compare Lee to Taylor Hicks. Lee will not be seen in musicals; they are very different in style.
He was the best singer and had the whole package. Good luck to Crystal.

i am so happy lee won!!i liked crystal also but loved lee.even simon said when it was the top 24 he had the best voice of all the men, he saw his potential early on too.
Lee is awesome and I'm so very happy for him. Crystal is amazing and i really think she is going to do great things in the future.

America sure got it right last night. Congrats goes out to Lee...Love him! He is such a talent, and I can't wait to hear more from him.
Hope when he gets in that studio he has something to help him with the flat notes and folk,give me a break,America sure got it wrong,can anyone say Taylor Hicks,at least he proved last night he can sing in tune,that Chicago series on the show was awful.
If any of you still care, if you have read my other comments about american idol, you know I am in love with Aaron. THat feeling has not changed. Lee is pretty cool, but I love Aaron more.
