"With Simon leaving the way he did...it was a big deal," DeWyze, 24, tells Us. "It was a really big season and a real big honor to be a part of it."
Adds runner-up Crystal Bowersox: "It's a pivotal season for American Idol. It leaves a lot of open-ended things and there's really limitless possibilities for the show," the singer-songwriter, 24, says. "For us, we've got a great launching pad and we're both going to be forever grateful to the show."

Since Wednesday's finale, both have signed record deals and will begin working on their albums while on tour this summer. In the meantime, DeWyze and Bowersox will join the rest of the Top 10 in rehearsals for the American Idol tour, which kicks off July 1 in Auburn Hills, Mich.

"We’re still working on the set and the order I’m gonna do them in, but I’m definitely looking forward to songs that I’ve picked," DeWyze -- who hinted he'll be covering a Kings of Leon song -- says. "It's going to be really fun."

Tell Us What You Think
8Congrats Lee! I am really happy for you. I think you did an amazing job on American Idol this season and I am looking forward to buying your CD coming out in October. Have a great time on the Idol tour and I hope to see you in my town one day.
Bad news Bro. The winner never amounts to crap so it's going to be intense having gone from hero to zero in record time. As for the janis jopplin karokee wanna be, she is no different. As stiff as a board on stage with no charisma. Sorry Us fans, they suck
love love love Crystal! also loving Lee now because Crystal loves him so much! Love them both! can't wait for the tour!
Really looking forward to all these two can and will bring to the music scene. But especially for Lee - I couldn't be happier. Or more eager to hear the music he will be putting out. HE WAS ROCK SOLID this year. I am sooooo glad he took the challenge - and won! You bet The Boxer impacted everyone who heard you sing it, Lee. You rocked Simon with that song, too.
If you did not like Idol, WHY are you on this page??? I love Idol and support what its purpose is, which as Lee says it is a stepping stone for artist to make their dreams come true. I am a Lee DeWyze fan and I know that Idol helped his talent to be noticed and now he will be able to become a "Great" musician. When I go back on his Idol performances and see how his music has changed from his pre-idol CD's, (and they were not bad), I am excited to hear his first after Idol CD, it will be awsome!!! Crystal's music always sounds like a Folk Song to me, although she has a beautiful voice and who knows, she may change her genre direction. Lee, on the other hand, has a wide spectrum of music likes and wants to reach a lot of different types of listeners and so I suspect he will be a very unique artist that will be around for a long time. I have ZERO idea who these people are
Someone please answer this for me.....What's the purpose in the tour with all the EX contestants? And is it the final 10 that go on tour? Sorry, but I've blown off Idol this season. Thanks.
They both look stoned.
