Lip Sync Battle’s Top 5 Moments Ever: Beyonce Joins Channing Tatum, Justin Bieber Gets Sensitive, More!

This means war! With Lip Sync Battle returning for its third season on Wednesday, October 12, Us Weekly is taking a look back at the most magical moments thus far from the Spike competition series that is cohosted by LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen. The show’s first two seasons have featured tons of hilarious and well-thought out routines — not to mention huge surprise guests (consider Us drunk in love) — so picking our favorites was no easy task.

Here are five moments that run our world:

1. Tatum vs. Tatum!

On the season 2 premiere, Channing Tatum pulled out all the stops and dressed up as Frozen’s Elsa as he battled his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum. The episode even included the Foxcatcher star, 36, welcoming the world’s best ringer in the form of Beyoncé. This married pair’s skirmish ultimately ended in a tie, but who could get over Channing decked out in a princess dress?

2. Backstreet Boys are back.

In season 2 episode 8, Gigi Hadid welcomed special guests A.J. McLean and Nick Carter to perform their Backstreet Boys hit “Larger Than Life” with her. Thanks to the model, 21, we got to relive all of our boy-band dreams once again!

3. Going for the gold.

During a special live episode in September, Olivia Munn battled it out against Terry Crews, Michael Phelps and John Legend. How did she combat these serious talents? By turning to Olympic gold medalists Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, of course! The gymnasts twirled around stage as Munn, 36, performed Sia’s “Cheap Thrills.”

4. Big boys don’t cry.

Justin Bieber showed his emotional side as he battled against NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders on the first season’s 12th episode. The pop star, 22, performed Fergie’s hit “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and seriously wowed us with the raw emotion.

5. So ‘80s.

During his battle with Aisha Tyler on season 2 episode 18, former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal brought out his inner 1980s fanatic — as well as his inner Jennifer Beals — for Michael Sembello’s “Maniac.” The 7-foot-1 sports broadcaster, 44, showcased the most delicate footwork while donning an eye-catching wig and leg warmers.

Lip Sync Battle returns for season 3 on Spike Wednesday, October 12, at 9 p.m. ET. In conjunction with the premiere, the show also launched a Lip Sync Battle app available here, allowing fans to create lip-sync videos and face off against their friends. (The app was developed in partnership with Wurrly, Spike TV and Casey Patterson Entertainment.)
