Sad new for George Lopez fans!

The comedian's TBS late-night talk show will not be returning for a third season. The network released a statement Wednesday, as excerpted by Entertainment Weekly, stating that Thursday's show "will be the final episode [of Lopez Tonight]."

Lopez Tonight premiered in November 2009; the 50-year-old comedian was the first Mexican American to host a late-night talk show on an English-language network in the United States.

While Lopez Tonight originally aired weeknights at 11 p.m. EST, it was bumped to midnight in Nov. 2010 when Conan O'Brien's show Conan took over its old spot. Lopez joked of the situation, saying, "I was on Team Coco, now I'm on Team Loco!"

Lopez infamously feuded with Kirstie Alley in March, calling her a "pig" during her stint on Dancing with the Stars. He later apologized for the joke on Twitter, but Alley, 60, didn't accept. "I don't need or want your apology," she said. "I want your kidney, dude. On behalf of your ex [who donated a kidney to Lopez in 2005] and all the women you've insulted."
