Lukas Graham isn’t a new name to Danish ears, but the pop group found their American audience with the release of 2015’s “7 Years.” The emotional song struck a chord with listeners, and Lukas Graham’s 2015 self-titled album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
Before the band embarked on their world tour, which runs from June 10 until February 1, Lukas Graham Forchhammer —the band’s namesake and lead singer — exclusively shared his favorite tour bus tracks with Us Weekly.
“Hallelujah I Love Her So,” by Ray Charles: “It’s the song that always makes the whole band happy. If it doesn’t put a smile on your face, there’s something seriously wrong with you!”
“Luchini AKA This Is It,” by Camp Lo: “One of the most banging rap songs from the ’90s. We play it as close to arriving at each venue as possible to get everyone in the right mood.”
“Buy Me a Boat,” by Chris Janson: “Bus sing-alongs are so much cozier when we do this one. David LaBrel, the engineer of our last album, introduced us to it. Thanks, Dave!”
“F–k You,” by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg & Devin the Dude: “2001 is one of our favorite albums. There’s never a time on the road when you don’t feel like hearing this. I know every word.”
“All Along the Watchtower,” by Jimi Hendrix: “It’s a goody from back when rock music was truly rock ’n’ roll! We ideally like to hear it right after a show, still on a high while driving away.”
