And the coveted role of Edward and Bella's daughter in Breaking Dawn goes to…Mackenzie Foy!
Author Stephenie Meyer announced the news Wednesday via Twilight's official Facebook page.
"Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy," Meyer, 36, wrote. "She's an amazing young actress and I'm excited to work with her. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer!"
The bright-eyed newcomer landed the part of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's onscreen daughter with only a handful of acting credits on her resume: a small role on an episode of 'Til Death in 2009 and a one-episode stint on Flash Forward in 2010.
Foy has also appeared in ads for Gap, Burger King and Garnet Hill.
So how will the 9-year-old actress portray the half-human, half-vampire child, who ages a full 17 years in only seven?
When she was first considered for the role in September, Entertainment Weekly speculated that director Bill Condon "will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy's face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It's also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too."
