Father of the year! Just weeks after Macklemore announced that he and fiancée Tricia Davis are expecting their first child together, the rapper is already earning some serious cool dad points.
The "Same Love" performer, 31, found his way to Sesame Street on Monday, Jan. 12, and became fast friends with Oscar the Grouch. Macklemore recruited the garbage-loving Muppet to remix his breakout 2012 hit single "Thrift Shop."
"There's so much yucky stuff out there, I want to get it all!" Oscar begins from his pile of trash, before his pal, the so-called "Mucklemore," enters the shot.
Over a melody of "Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck," and "Muddy, muddy, muddy mud," the Muppets rap, "I'm gonna pop some trash / only got seven bags in my trash can."
The newly minted Mucklemore joins in, spitting, "Wouldn't you like to rock a fish on your noodle / Wouldn't you like to wear the kit and caboodle / Do you have a skunk stole with the broom pit / One Grouch's trash is another Grouch's outfit."
Macklemore's contribution was a part of an episode called "Oscar's Trash Savings Plan." With themes of "math and self-regulation," the installment taught viewers about being frugal and saving up for things that they want, rather than spending money without consideration.
The Grammy winner has a big year ahead of him. His love of nine years Davis is expecting the couple's baby in the coming months, and he is hyped to release his sophomore studio album later this year after the success of 2012's The Heist.
