Maksim Chmerkovskiy Slams Derek Hough

Maksim Chmerkovskiy will not be bullied.
On Monday night's Dancing with the Stars, Hope Solo's 31-year-old partner lashed out at judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli after their scathing critiques. While Lacey Schwimmer and Chaz Bono supported Maksim for standing up for himself, Ricki Lake's partner Derek Hough sided with the judges.
"Derek Hough has been very supportive of his personal career on the show," Maksim said in an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America Wednesday. "When you say judges have been generous, with all due respect, if I had Nicole Scherzinger followed by Jennifer Grey followed by Ricki Lake, I probably would not be very upset with the judges either."

But unlike Derek, Maksim isn't going to sing the judges' praises. "I had a long conversation with my dad and I don't regret anything," he said on Good Morning America. "That's why I think I'm misunderstood in this situation. Everyone is waiting for me to bow my head and plead for forgiveness. I have nothing to apologize for. I'm in the business because I love it. I can't really lose with remarks like this."

"One thing I'm not going to embrace is pointing fingers and disrespectful remarks," he explained. "Why are judges allowed to compare us to animals and point their fingers and we can't say we're work and show our opinion?"

Tell Us What You Think
131Maxim makes that show without him I certainly would not watch it. neither would my friends. He is honest and almost always right Carrie Ann especially makes his life miserable. I really think she has the hots for him and he don't give her a tumble. Love you Max
Carrie Ann Is a power hungry wanna be. Len is a hasbeen and Bruno is downright rude. Maks is always picked apart and NEVER given Any credit. Everyone I talk to is sick of the biased judging and lack of credit for Maxs. The day they relplace Maks ,or before.....soon I already can not bear to watch Carrie Ann, I will stop watching and so is everyone else I know. The judging is a joke. The abuse the judges use is VERY hard to watch. And Carrie Ann is a real BI&%h. Her last straw was when she "got on to Maks for some smile he had on his face. Some how tryint to "Put him in his "PLACE" Made her look very small, and not in a good way
The brain factory obviously missed a few too many! 1) The judges are there to JUDGE the contestants, therefore they do make criticisms of the contestant, the way the contestant presents themselves, the technical part, etc.... If you can't handle the judge's comments then dance somewhere else where there is NO judging, otherwise you signed up for this, so take it like a man not a pansy. 2) You are basically slamming your previous partners by saying look he got THOSE contestants and I got these, it is implied that you think less of your partners therefore I am sure that they are aware of your view of them and maybe this is WHY there is no chemistry between you and your partners. You pretty much acted like you made the show, owned the show, etc when in fact your can easily be replaced.
It was wrong to argue with the judges . I do not watch the show to see him at all.
Maks also does not get enough viewer votes to win so it's not just the judges or the favorism or anything else he can find to blame for his not winning. After that many years on the show, he still can't get along with the judges then it's time to go. PLUS, Maks didn't get real aggressive with Len in his defense of Hope until Len told him that the dance was 50% his fault - then Maks blew. It was not about Hope.
I agree with what Maks said and I think it is time for a new batch of judges. Carri-Ann is starting to remind me of how Paula Abdul was on American Idol a few years ago. Both Len and Bruno have been very degrading towards the contestants. Bruno can be entertaining but when scathing remarks are made it takes away from all the positive comments. I hope the network listens and starts looking for new judges.
Mak is arrogant and Derek is humble. Mak should change his attitude with every partner he has. Derek is patient and he not. It doesn't mean Derek have a good partner. Everyone professional dancer did wonderful. Mak is not patient with his partner like Derek is.
I say it every season Derek gets the best partners!!!! do you know how many other pro's agree with Max? probably all!!! Max is just saying what all the pros have been thinking for the longest time!!!
Max didn't slam Derek, he just stated the facts. It is evident who is set up with the best celebs...people aren't voting for Ricki (although she is a great Dancer) they are voting for Derek. The finals with Bristol Palin, I couldn't even vote, I also believe that was a deal breaker, they didn't want Bristol to win and who improved the most? Bristol, Grey was a dancer previously, that season was set up so off balance. This is the most "fairly balanced" season as far as celebs and kudos to Nancy and Rob and David, who clearly are not the judges picks and they don't always vote on performance, or Chaz would have been gone a long time ago, there is no consistency, he got the points for effort not the dance. He should have went before ron artest even...not to mention Kristin
on the flip side, im sure the show wants to keep him b/c he's so controversial.
simple. youre not on the judge's table. get over yourself.
Maks, OK... at first I thought you were trying to defend Hope. Now it sound like you were jealous the facts that Derek has better partners?!? Show some respects to your current partner and your previous partners...
I do agree with what Maks said about the judges and their comments but it was rude for him to tell Len to get out of the ballroom business. I love watching him dance and his choreography but he needs to mature and be humble. He needs to learn how to play his cards right if he wants to win the MBT. If he continues to shows no love and respect for the judges regardless how much more knowledge and dance titles he has than them, he can kiss his hopes goodbye next week. I honestly think that no matter who Derek is partnered with, he cannot do any wrong. He is pure genius in his choreography and attitude whether he wins or not. I don't think he'll win with Ricki but unlike Maks he won't go on a rant about it.
I know it sounded ugly for Maks to speak that way to Len but he was right in doing so. The judges are very rude to the contestants and the pros. Len should judge the dance that they have just danced not go back and compare it to the others. I would have done the same thing Maks did. It was his job to teacher her to dance and it was his right to protect her as well. Derek is the only one on the show that always gets parners that can dance already. So I agree with Maks, Derek should have plenty of nice things to say to the judges.
Derek is a great teacher but he is also the judges favorite .Everyone who has been watching the show, knows this. Max is hot headed but he doesn't get the most talented contestants either. He speaks his mind and I think the judges deserve it.Bruno can be very disrepectful to a lot of contestants and he gets away with it.he needs to be replaced. There is a lot of favoritism going on.
Derek is just a really good teacher. He doesnt get upset and swear at his partner he is understanding. Maks needs to get a grip Hope cant dance...thats not the judges fault they are their to judge the dance. I give every star on there credit for how hard they try but some people just cant dance....
max can do nothing wrong. he is a dedicated teacher, and he is doing a great job!
Derrick has always been a camera hog and a brown noser. He will talk over his partners and has since day one. Maks is opinionated and at times has a hard time making his remarks transfer into english correctly. Dancing with the Stars started out as a show that took stars who had had no dance training and teaching them to dance. That sort of got blown out of the water with some of the stars they have had on. Carrie Ann, Bruno and Len all have their favorites and it is clear. I loved how Carrie Ann said that the dance between Nancy and Tristin lacked passion, hell, I would hope so, she is old enough to be his Mom. Nancy is not an actor but a lawywe, she doesn't know how to act passion. Bruno's remarks to Chaz was so out of line and yet I do not see him saying he is sorry. Carrie Ann and Len defended him. There have been plenty of overweight women on and it would have hit the fan to make a comment like that to any of them. Because you are a judge does not give you the right to tear down someone trying.
I commend Maks for his lashing out at the judges when he needed to. I feel the judges have gone way overboard in their comments and criticisms (esp. Len and Bruno) to the contestants. After all, these are celebs. who are trying their darnest to learn ballroom dancing, which is very intense, difficult for some of them who have not danced at all in their life time, demanding, which takes so much time out from their families, work, and other activities they are involved in. What I want to say, is the judges should be more encouraging instead of slamming down so hard some of these contestants. They should look at their willingness to learn, hard work and effort, instead of calling them names and downgrading them for their performances. Perhaps they think it's funny or entertaining on their parts, but these contestants have feelings and they react to harsh criticism from the judges. Judges should tone down their nasty remarks and criticisms. Chaz just about cried when Bruno made the remard about him looking like a penguin on the dance floor. He remarked: "What is there to say?" when asked by Brook, "Do you have anything to say?"
I always thought that Bruno should have been fired after his incident with Michael Bolton. I used to like Carrie Ann until she went on Access Hollywood and defended Bruno's and Len's behavior. Now, I think that all 3 of them should be fired and replaced and Len needs to get off of the Viagra.
