Moving on without him. In what is presumably the least of Mark Salling's concerns at the moment, the Glee alum has been dropped from the upcoming film Adi Shankar's Gods and Secrets following his federal indictment on Friday, May 27, for two charges related to child pornography.

Adi Shankar, who is codirecting the project, said in a statement released to Us Weekly on Tuesday, May 31, that Salling will be cut out of the film, and his scenes will be reshot. The 33-year-old actor had been cast in a villain role.

"Adi Shankar’s Gods and Secrets will be moving forward without Mark Salling," Shankar said. "He has been cut from the miniseries, I will personally be paying for the reshoots, and I hope that Mark finds inner peace. Furthermore, a percentage of profits from the project will go to a charity for abused children."

"Hopefully some good will come of all of this, and I pray that when the dust has settled, the hyper-connectivity of the information age that has brought to light the transgressions of several public figures will also force us to look within our society to identify and eliminate the root cause of the rape culture we exist in," Shankar continued.

Salling was arrested for possession of child pornography in December 2015, after the Internet Crimes Against Children LAPD task force obtained a search warrant and discovered thousands of images on his laptop, a hard drive and a USB flash drive in his Sunland, California, home.

Following the May 27 indictment, United States Attorney Eileen M. Decker said in a statement released to Us, “Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed. … Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed, and every time it is viewed.”

Shankar told Us in December after Salling's arrest that the actor's scenes would be cut if the allegations proved to have merit.

The performer is best known for his role as Noah Puckerman on Fox's Glee. He also starred in UP TV's 2014 film Rocky Road and released the solo album Pipe Dreams in 2010.
