Mary J. Blige says she doesn't know what to think of Kanye West, who famously interrupted Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards Sept. 13.

"People are going through more than what you can imagine. I love Kayne, and I wish the best for him," she told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at a Gucci party in NYC.

Of West (whose mother Donda died two years ago following a "cosmetic procedure"), Blige said, "I pray that whatever's going on with him, he deals with it."

Blige, 38, also opened up about Whitney Houston's revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey. During the chat, Houston admitted she was drug free but said, "I can only take today, one day at a time."

Blige — who was once addicted to drugs and alcohol — told Us she is "so super happy for Whitney. She's freeing herself of  everything that holds her back by speaking and helping a multitude of women.

"Wow," Blige went on. "She stood up and said, 'I believe in myself.' I'm proud of Whitney. That made me cry.

"What I love that she said is that she didn't say that she was 100 percent recovered. She said, 'I don't know about tomorrow, but today I'm good.' Go, Whitney! She was honest, and that's what I love!"

Blige also thanked her husband Kendu Isaacs for always supporting her.

"The best thing about having love in your life is you learn how to love yourself first," she said. "You absolutely learn how to love yourself when you have a relationship. And when you learn to love yourself, the love comes pouring out for everyone."

How does Blige's husband keep her happy?

Said the singer, "He tells me the truth about everything!"

I agree with Blige about the fact that maybe he has not grieved properly and, yes, he should be prayed for. Everybody deserves prayer. But I am extremely offended that he did use this excuse for his disrespectful behaviour. Just because of the fact of his previous antics. He has always behaved like a typical narcissist and was hateful about many things long before his mother passed. I totally believe that he is still grieving for his passed mother and I wish him the best on that particular issue. But he needs some prospective about his unacceptable antics. Although, I sincerely doubt he will ever change and the only reason for his apology was because of the outrage from so many people including his peers.

Wow @ how ignorance pops up in the least expected posts. Someone mentions that A) they have gone through something and B) pray that someone else gets through their own hardship and this becomes a RACE issue!? Furthermore, Kanye never made excuses for his behavior. Leno asked a DIRECT question and Kanye admitted that maybe he needs to take a break and process things. Have you never done something stupid? Never lost someone important? Never had an off day? Even if his behavior never changes... people are acting like he slapped the girl.

Why pray for this idiot? He wants people to think he's going to change when he's really not. It's one incident after another. Kanye, you're a douchebag, please go away.

Kanye should be even more ashamed for implying that his mother's death was the excuse for what he did!! Do people forget that he was known for these outbursts way before his mother passed away! I think this is the only way he thought he could get sympathy since most of his peers thought he was an a$$ for doing what he did to Taylor. Hopefully from now on he will keep his butt in his seat until his name is called, if ever, at any award shows. I love his music, but he is NOT the do all and be all of music. He has a right to his opinion but he does not have the right to make every one else miserable because of it. And Taylor being classy like she is has forgiven him. Yes, pray for Kanye but make him accountable. GO TAYLOR!!

Kanye is still an a$$! Hopefully his apology to Taylor Swift is TRULY sincere. NOT because his publicist told him so to save his image.
