Things are getting strange in Sochi! Matt Lauer and Al Roker stripped down naked and huddled together in a hot tub for a Today show segment called "Relax Like a Russian."

The dynamic duo visited a traditional Russian bathhouse where they were "pampered" like Olympic athletes on the Wednesday, Feb. 12 episode of NBC's morning program. "I think it's time to chill out like an Olympian," Roker told Lauer before the buddies headed into the sauna, nestled in a scenic mountainous region of Sochi.

The pair then underwent a slew of unexpected treatments, starting with a deep back massage which ended with masseuses smacking the two men on the back with hot eucalyptus leaves, causing Lauer to yelp, "What did I do to you?" while Roker quipped, "That tingles!"

"I'm not sure how much more of the, uh, recreational spanking I can take," Lauer remarked before he and Roker headed into the steaming outdoor hot tub. Once both men climbed into the giant pool, the masseuses then poured hot water over their heads before enveloping their heads with eucalyptus leaves. "Whoa, didn't see that coming," Roker, still wearing his glasses, said of his unofficial baptism session.

"So now we know how to relax like Olympians," Lauer commented.

Roker responded, "Yeah, by making Matt and Al soup."

This is not their first time the two pals have made waves on the Today show. Back in November, cameras followed Lauer and Roker into a NYC hospital as both underwent prostate exams on live TV.

It has also been a buzzworthy week overall for NBC's Winter Olympics staff. For the second night in a row, Lauer will fill in for Bob Costas during Tuesday's primetime coverage due to the sportscaster's unrelenting eye infection.
