Maura Tierney is returning to TV after battling breast cancer.
The former ER star will reprise her role as Denis Leary's love interest Kelly McPhee on Rescue Me, TVGuide.com reports.

Leary tells TVGuide.com that Tierney, 45, is already taping scenes, but they won't appear until Season 7 airs in 2011.

The actress dropped out of NBC comedy Parenthood last September to undergo treatment. She returned to the stage in February, appearing in North Atlantic in Los Angeles..
"[Tierney] has finished treatment and is doing very well and is happy to move forward with the next phase of her life," Christina Papadopoulos, Tierney's rep, said in a statement.

Tierney received an Emmy nomination for playing Dr. Abby Lockhart for 10 years on NBC's ER.
