Melissa Rivers is thrilled to take over her mom Joan's hosting spot on Fashion Police.

Helping Joan's legacy live on. Following a rocky few Fashion Police episodes after Joan Rivers' untimely September 2014 death, the comic's daughter, Melissa Rivers, is ready to revamp the series to pay proper tribute to her mom.

"It's exciting! It's good to feel like I’m home, [and preserving my mother's] legacy," Rivers, 47, said in a June 19 interview on CBS' The Talk, two days after E! made her co-hosting appointment official.

Planning to debut the revamped series in August following the MTV Video Music Awards, Rivers and her team are anxious to bring a new spin to the show Joan made famous.

"[Rivers is] really aligned with Brad and I in that we definitely want to celebrate people and talk about fashion and have fun with fashion and just make it as entertaining and fast-paced as possible,” co-host Giuliana Rancic told Us Weekly. "I think it'll be something different. She's not trying to be someone else, so she's just going to try to just bring her own unique personality to the table."

Rancic isn't the only one pleased with Melissa's new role. Kelly Osbourne, who famously departed the series after the 2015 Oscars, is just as thrilled for her friend. "It's about time!" Osbourne enthused on Friday's The Talk.
