Gilmore Girls fans, the wait is almost over! In just about two weeks, Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) will grace our Netflix accounts with their charisma, coffee, comedy and charm, and life will finally feel normal again. Show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has teased many surprises that fans can look forward to seeing unravel when the revival launches on November 25, including the answers we all need regarding the complicated love square Rory shares with former suitors Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki), Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) and Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry). But the question remains — who ever will she choose?
Ventimiglia, 39, spoke exclusively to Us Weekly at the recent NBC + Vanity Fair Party about the return of the series that signed off in 2007 after seven seasons. He acknowledges that Rory is seemingly spoiled for choice, and asks the question we’re all dying to know: “What’s a girl to do?”
As for whether he is rooting for Jess to win Rory’s heart, Ventimiglia reveals, “I don’t know. I don’t really know the right answer for it. I think the fans are going to decide.”
The Heroes alum, who currently portrays Jack on NBC’s new series This Is Us, admits that he had a wonderful time returning to the Gilmore set, and was thankful for “one last moment with Scott Patterson [Luke] to lock horns.”
Ventimiglia is excited for the show’s loyal following to experience Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which he explains was developed primarily for the show’s loyal devotees: “When you finish a show of that magnitude, and you walk away from it, and years and years and years pass, and then you go back to it, it feels a little more reverent for the fans and excitement for the fans, instead of a personal satisfaction.”
