‘The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition’ Premiere Recap: Heidi Montag Vomits, Kim Richards’ Daughter Feels Like Spouse

When you throw six pairs of feuding mothers and daughters in a house, there is bound to be drama. On The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition‘s Tuesday, March 1, series premiere, that is exactly what happened. It’s up to tough therapist Dr. Debbie Magids to mend those relationships, but not without tears — and we mean a lot of tears.

For starters, Heidi Montag threw up, and Kim Richards‘ daughter said she felt almost like her mom’s “husband.” Indeed, the dirty laundry was out in the open, and it made for a bizarrely entertaining premiere.

Heidi Is a Drunk Mess?

From the moment Heidi walked in the door, she was on a downward spiral. Before throwing up all over the marble floor, the Hills star, 29, cried to pretty much everyone in the house, fought with the therapist and spit her food out at the dinner table. Luckily, her mom, Darlene Egelhoff, was there to hold her hair as she puked her brains out on night one. Perhaps that’s one way to begin fixing your problems.

After things calmed down a little, Darlene said she blamed Heidi for their falling-out during her daughter’s quest for fame. But Heidi fired back, claiming her mom betrayed her and used the press to get back at her by commenting on her infamous surgeries.

Doctor’s Orders

What’s the perfect medicine for mending a broken mother-daughter relationship? Showing interview tapes that the women thought were filmed privately, of course. In the footage, Kimberly Jackson revealed she felt overly responsible for her mom, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards, 51.

“I feel like I have to take care of her,” Kimberly, 21, said. “She’s fragile, physically and emotionally. And I think I’ve kind of taken over the role of not the husband, but I’ve always felt like I have to be helping her, and it does overwhelm me.”

Natalie Nunn (Bad Girls Club) and mother Karen described their relationship as “dysfunctional” and “confusing,” while Shar Jackson was accused by daughter Carrie of being “too clingy.” We must say, we’re impressed by how Magids was able to remain cool, calm and collected through all the madness, crying and yelling. We’ll have what she’s having.

The Teen Bride

This was, surprisingly, the most dramatic relationship of them all. Courtney Stodden married a 51-year-old when she was just 16, and though she received her mother’s approval at the time, the tabloid fixture, 21, hadn’t seen her mom, Krista, in six months.

Courtney claimed this is because her mom is “crazy for fame” and tried to steal her daughter’s husband, Lost actor Doug Hutchinson. Whoa! Their feud garnered some attention from the other pairs, not to mention some alone time with the therapist. Clearly, Magids has her work cut out for her this season.
