“Are you afraid? You should be. You’re in the great game now. And the great game is terrifying.” That’s the opening line from Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) in the new trailer for season 6 of Game of Thrones.
The trailer, released online on Saturday, March 26, teases lots of action, and no doubt lots of death for the new season, which returns to HBO in April.
“We are sinful creatures,” says the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). “We deserve death — we all do.”
Referencing a previous trailer released in February, which focused on the Hall of Faces, another voice can be heard saying, “One way or another, the gift will be given. One way or another, a face will be added to the hall.”
One thing the trailer doesn’t reveal? The fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), whose future has been the subject of speculation ever since his character was stabbed several times at the end of last season.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO on Sunday, April 24, at 9 p.m. ET.
