Happy news for the Knights! Just married couple Kirk and Laura Knight, who are documenting their wedded bliss on Bravo's Newlyweds: The First Year, experienced a major loss when their first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Now, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal that the pair are expecting again.

"I'm really far along in the pregnancy," the mom-to-be dished to Us over the phone the week before the big news will air on TV. "Super healthy. The pregnancy's been wonderful."

The normally active Knight knew something was up after she felt ill following a long run, so she had the foresight to capture her happy news on camera.

"I had gone for an eight-mile run and at the end I started to feel a little bit nauseous and my chest started to hurt," she said. "I thought, 'That's odd, that's unusual for me,' so I got a pregnancy test and waited until the morning because I knew that's when you have the strongest levels of hormones."

After she made the discovery herself, she made her husband breakfast in bed, grabbed her "couple cam," and showed him the positive result. "I was so certain that it was going to be positive that I took the camera and put it under my side of the bed so that I could easily grab it in the morning without Kirk knowing what's going on," she explained, "because I wanted to surprise him and I didn't want to do anything suspicious."

That happy moment, which you can watch below, is documented on the Tuesday, April 28 episode of the show. It comes just a few weeks after cameras captured the couple coping with a miscarriage. Although both Kirk and Laura said it was hard to film those sad moments and even more difficult to watch them, they are grateful they were able to share their experience with the world.

"Originally, we were really hesitant to expose what we were going through but learning about how frequently miscarriages happen — it's one in five pregnancies," Kirk told Us. "What's been the problem is everybody internalizes this. They don't really share it with many people. I think at the end of the day, we're really happy that we were able to share even though it was so painful, because I think it helped a lot of people who are going through similar situations."

Plus, finding out they were pregnant again shortly after the miscarriage helped them cope with their loss. "It solidified our relationship even more than we already had," Laura said. "Being able to get pregnant again was scary for me because there were a lot of unknowns, but when it happened and as things moved forward and everything was healthy, it really released a lot of those past anxieties."

The happy episode of Newlyweds: The First Year airs Tuesday, April 28 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Bravo.
