Oprah Winfrey sure signed off her talk show with a bang.
According to a new Nielsen report released Wednesday, Winfrey's May 25 send-off drew lots of tears -- and big ratings. More than 16 million viewers tuned in to see Winfrey reflect on her career as the finale's only guest.
Nearly triple The Oprah Winfrey Show's normal ratings, the May 25 episode -- billed as a "special" by Nielsen -- was her highest-rated installment since 1993's "Why I Love Older Women" show, watched by 17.3 million viewers.
"Gratitude is the single greatest treasure I will take with me from this experience," Winfrey said, closing her May 25 broadcast surrounded by her staff and her beloved cocker spaniel, Sadie. "I thank you for sharing this yellow brick road of blessings. I won't say goodbye -- I'll just say, 'Until we meet again.'"
The Oprah Winfrey Show wrapped its 25-year run as the No. 1 talk show for the 630th week in a row.
