Veronica cuts to the chase, asking her friend, "Ashley, what did you come here to talk to me about?" After confirming Veronica's suspicion that it's in regards to the detective's death, Ashley says, "I want to tell you my side of the story. . .  unless you think you already know."

"I've heard some rumors," Veronica admits. "Look, I have to ask this as a formality: Are you talking to me as your friend or as your lawyer?"

"Hopefully both," Ashley replies. "I think the police are building a case against me." Veronica says she'll look into it and speak to her contact at the Rosewood Police Department. "Veronica, I have some skeletons in my closet," Ashley reveals. "I just didn't want you to be surprised."

"Nothing surprises me anymore," Veronica reassures her.

Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC Family.
