Maria Shriver needs her friends more than ever right now -- including Oprah Winfrey, a close pal for over 30 years.

Which is probably why the TV journalist and estranged wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared Tuesday before a crowd of 15,000 -- and a bevy of A-list stars -- to celebrate the final episodes of Winfrey's eponymous show after 25 years.

Half a day after her husband stunningly confessed to fathering an illegitimate child over a decade a ago with a female staffmember, Shriver took the stage at Chicago's United Center alongside Gayle King (Winfrey's other best girlfriend) around 10 p.m. (Find out what other stars showed up for the finale.)
Radiant in a sexy teal gown, Shriver paid tribute to her close friend. "For more than 30 years you have bestowed upon me the most amazing friendship," said Shriver, who has four kids with Schwarzenegger, 63.

She even made a slight dig at her cheating spouse, noting to Winfrey: "You have shown love, support, wisdom, and most of all," she said, with a big, meaningful pause, "the truth."
Winfrey tightly squeezed her hand as the crowd erupted in applause.
"Over the years, you have shared that very generous spirit--you've believed in others, so they can believe in themselves."

Shriver could certainly use some TLC these days. Earlier that day, she released her own statement about her estranged husband's shocking admission. "This is a painful and heartbreaking time," she said. "As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."
Late Monday, multiple outlets reported that the other woman was Mildred Baena, who worked as the family's housekeeper-assistant for over 20 years, and allegedly gave birth to Schwarzenegger's son 14 years ago.

12Thankfully the comments on this site are more positive. On Yahoo's OMG! many people had remarked that Maria must have "cut him off" or ignored his transgressions because they were in the spotlight. Im thankful that she has her children and women like Oprah to stand by her side during this time. Arnold is a real man wh0re!
my defination of a diss is different from US'
I hope they don't make the girl friend a superstar, so she ends up richer then now. It seems here in the USA when someone cheats, does porn, or is someones h00ker..they get a reality show, or get rich with tons of free PR.
Arnold's mistress is neither attractive nor stylish at all - no comparison to Maria. How could Hollywood movie star Arnold have no taste in women? Sorry Stupid Arnold. Maria is remarkable woman. She put herself behind to support Arnold for his political life. She gave Arnold four wonderful children. I support Maria!
Although she is right. He is a skank. I really dislike seeing ex couples diss each other, especially when there are kids involved.
So, Isabel, because Kennedy men cheated, Maria deserved to be cheated on? Really? Maria, I have a huge, iron skillet you are welcome to borrow any time. One thing we can agree on, the children don't deserve this. That includes the "love" child. Poor kid.
He was really worth to marry into the Kennedy-Family. The men all cheated, Joe Kennedy sen. as well as all of his sons. The stories of the President John F. having sex with women in the bathroom while the First Lady was close, everybody knows them. So what's the big deal? As always the kids are the true ones to feel sorry for.
nice
Given all that has happened recently to Maria the so-called 'dis' isn't worthy to be called that. It was more an admission that not everything is coming up roses for her right now. I personally think they will reconcile once Maria has processed and dealt with her feelings over this. Itâ??s not my place to judge if that would be the â??rightâ?? or â??wrongâ?? thing to do, this is a private matter and they will handle it the best way they can. As for Oprah, I have not been a regular viewer for some time but I have drifted between devoted viewer and casual viewer many times in the past 20 years and watching Oprah always left me feeling informed, inspired or both. I shed many tears listening to her guests stories, happy tears, sad tears, angry tears, etc. I always admired Oprah for her dignified and respectful treatment of people in an atmosphere that saw Jerry Springer, Maury Povich and other tabloid vulture-like shows who sought to humiliate, degenerate and make a sceptical of their lives. Oprah sought to heal, comfort and educate and this made her the undisputed Queen of Talk. She wasnâ??t afraid to cry or rejoice when the emotions overwhelmed her and this made each of us feel like we knew her and she knew us. I will miss you Oprah and thank you for the many years we have shared through my TV.
Wouldn't go as far as saying that's a diss, US.
How did she "diss" him??
i couldn't imagine the pain she's going thru.
