The Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer has confirmed UsMagazine.com's exclusive report that Cindy Barshop will be joining the hit Bravo show next season.
"Yes, Cindy will be joining the show," she told Us Wednesday at the Giorgio Gucci Emperor's Brand Honors Gala in NYC. "She's really a fabulous woman."
As Us previously reported, Barshop is founder and owner of Completely Bare, a successful chain of day spas specializing in hair removal, with three locations in Manhattan, plus branches in Palm Beach, Fla., and Scarsdale, NY. The self-made Barshop is a single mom to twin girls Zoe and Jesse, born in 2009.
"I've known her for a while," Singer, 53, told Us. "We have a lot in common. She's independent, a strong business woman. She's a very impressive woman: Smart, powerful. I think she will be an amazing addition to our crew."
Singer also told Us she expects less catfights than last season.
"This season is going to be a lot more fun!" said Singer, who has already started filming.
With Bethenny Frankel gone, "there will be a lot less drama," she added. "Last season got very dark and sad. This season will be a lot more lighthearted. There is definitely a lot to look forward to!"
Bravo has yet to make an official announcement.
At the 2nd annual GLAAD Media Awards in NYC Wednesday, Bravo exec Andy Cohen told Us: "I don't know anything about a new New York housewife. There are so many rumors!"
