Out Tuesday 3/8

Us Rating: ***1/2

On R.E.M.'s 15th CD, the seminal art-rock band tries to be all things to all fans -- and it works! The disc has zippy tracks that recall their first record, 1983's Murmur ("That Someone Is You"), the delving lyricism of the 1991 smash Out of Time ("Uberlin") and the racing guitars of their 2008 offering, Accelerate ("All the Best"). Looks like the Georgia guys have got another classic on their hands. (Warner Bros.)
