Chris Brown's Tuesday appearance on Good Morning America didn't exactly go without a hitch.

Promoting his new album F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies), the singer, 21, was visibly agitated during an interview with show host Robin Roberts as she asked questions related to his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna. (Brown tried to move the focus back to his new record when Roberts asked about a relaxed restraining order between the former couple and other legal issues.)

After that tense chat, an irked Brown performed his song "Yeah 3x," stormed off stage and retreated to his dressing room.  ABC News confirms that Brown, suddenly shirtless, then confronted the segment producer angrily. "The producer backed away," ABC reports. Hearing loud noises coming out Brown's dressing room, the show's hair and makeup staff became concerned and called security.

TMZ reports that Brown destroyed a dressing room window by throwing a chair at it. (ABC News confirms that the glass was shattered, with the evidence visible from outside the building at 43rd street and Broadway in Manhattan.) Brown was later photographed storming out of the studio with his shirt off.

Says ABC News in a statement: "As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that's what we did in this interview."

After the incident, Brown wrote an angry Tweet, even mentioning Charlie Sheen: "I'm so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for their bulls**t."

Brown quickly deleted that post, writing simply:"All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!!"

Robin Roberts, wots up with you and history. we have long forgotten the story and you are there bringing it u. The boy is right by getting annoyed. He wants to move on and forget and there you are thrashing the issue like it has just happened. Give us new issues....

what chris did was absolutely reprehensible he knows it do you have to keep rehashing it..he still has learned how to deflect questions and his publicist did not prepare him for it!! i don't beleive for a minute that She resigned i believe she was fired cause she did not prep him for it Imagine that being OPRAH! chris keep your head up but you have to learn to take the bitter with the sweet and not blow up everytime someone mentions what you did! GET A BETTER PUBLICIST cause if it happens again..ppl will not want to be bothered with you and it shows you ain't moved on from it

All how he tried to stress on talking about his new album she stressed evan more about him an rihanna...he answered a question she related it to that past situation.

  • March 24, 2011 - 4:41pm Adam Steele

The interviewer was obviously trying to piss him off. I mean she was blatantly repeating the questions he was also BLATANTLY trying to avoid so he could promote his new album!! Leave him the hell alone! I agree he is going to have to deal with the consequences for a long time to come but that day wasn't the day for those questions! Totally unapropriate(sp?)!

  • March 24, 2011 - 2:14am Dave Hennesy

Courtney Adams he was there to promote his album and not answer questions about rihanna. What else is he supposed to do? He's made his apologies, took his beatings in the media for over a year, both him and rihanna have moved on and now the guy is trying to get back on his feet again with an album. Whats the point bringing the incident up everytime the guy is interviewed? It's pointless now but I guess the media is trying to please the blood thirsty lot like you.

@ Isabel Lani, Angelica Mariana G Thomas Chi and Kiley Fox AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!!! This jerk doesn't deserve the airtime nor attention that they give him. He makes me physically sick!! @ Jessica, you really don't get it do you? Yes this happened a little over two years ago but he evidently hasn't made any PROGRESS. I honestly believe that people would move on if they believed that he had moved on and up. This FOOL

There are better ways of dealing with annoying people/questions. I am getting tired of hearing about the sh*t myself, I can imagine how he feels. Don't let people make a name for themselves off you Mr. Brown, especially these people who are "reporting the news". This wound has scabbed over.....stop trying to open it up again.

  • March 23, 2011 - 11:57am Jessica Williams

I don't blame this young man for being upset. This happened two years ago. The two of them have moved on, and yet you have these so called news reporters trying to make a name for themselves by continuing to open up old wounds that have scabbed over. All the BS going on in the entertainment industry, I am sure they can find something more up to date and newsworthy to f**k with people over. However, Mr. Brown, there are better ways of dealing with annoying people and/or questions.

BEN ROETHLISBERGER, MEL GIBSON & CHARLIE SHEEN DIDN'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH HALF THE MEDIA THAT THE 19 YR OLD DID!!! Mel Gibson admitted on the phone to hitting his girlfriend with the baby in her arm and all America said was "shame on her for trying to extort him, lock her up and give him custody!!!!" I NEVER SAID WHAT DUDE DID WASN'T ABSOLUTELY WRONG. WHAT I SAID HAS THAT HE WAS A TEENAGER!!!!! I SAID THE MEDIA'S COVERAGE FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS HAD SUSPECT & HIDDEN AGENDAS BECAUSE OTHER GROWN MEN THAT COMMENTED SIMILAR CRIMES DIDN'T GET SIMILAR COVERAGE. I QUESTION WHO THEY CHOOSE TO RAILROAD AND LABEL/SCARLET LETTER THE NATIONAL FACE OF A CRIME AND WHO GETS NO COVERAGE OR 1 REPORT TODAY AND THE MEDIA MOVES ON TOMORROW!!! (vs who gets protesters from activist groups) Google "The Birth of a Nation (1915)"............. THIS IS NOTHING NEW!!!!

It is not all about the music! If a talented musician is not the nicest person in the world, so be it, I do not want to be friends with him, but I do not want to make an obnoxious and violent person like Chris Brown, who obviously did't change one bit, even richer with my money. In fact, I do not want to see and hear about such scum at all. Some things caanot be excused or wiped out by the fact that you can sing or dance or whatever. Violence towards women, children, any kind of sexual abuse are unexcusable crimes, and Chris Browns behaviour speaks for itself. The past is always a part of life, what matters is, how you deal with it and what a person learns. So, he is just one of those artificial fakes and he thinks he has nothing to be sorry about and the world owns HIM an apology for reminding him about what he did? What a repulsing and despicable creature he is.

boycott cris brown...he problably expects for rihanna to apologize?? he acts like nothing happenned..or as if he was not responsible..he should feel bad for what he did..so mature

  • March 23, 2011 - 2:59am Thomas Chi

The public doesn't need Chris Brown. Nor does the industry, forget his mental issues, boycott Chris Brown, find his CD free online, who needs to pay him for these rants - There are plenty of good tours this summer, plenty of good music, boycott Chris Brown.

  • March 23, 2011 - 1:53am Kiley Fox

If Chris Brown wants people to look past the incident and "move on", he should prove that HE has moved on, changed, and dealt with his anger issues. It is obvious that he has not. Breaking a window and making a public embarrassment of himself with a reputable show like GMA does not help his image. I pray for him. Seriously.

  • March 23, 2011 - 12:43am Jake Miosge

Its all about the music!!!!!! Chris has focused all his energy into his music and promoting positivity. His talent is undeniable! Unfortunately ignorant people such as the interviewer would not even let him promote his album on the day it was released! thats why he was on the show! Chris is one of the most electrifying performers in entertainment and does not deserve to be criticised constantly after he has done his time already.if everyone hasnt already PURCHASE F.A.M.E ON ITUNES OR AT ANY GOOD MUSIC RETAILER! THE ALBUM IS INCREDIBLE!!!! YOU CAN PURCHASE TICKETS FOR HIS SHOW AT TICKETEK COMING NEXT MONTH! will be a night to remember. LETS GET BACK TO THE MUSIC!

  • March 23, 2011 - 12:32am Erika Arceo-Florez

I feel bad for Chris Brown. I don't understand why they even asked him those questions about Rihanna even if he agreed to them. Let it go already. It was so obvious he was getting annoyed with her questions and she would not take the hint. She was even getting on my nerves. Regardless, he should not have reacted that way. That was really stupid of him and now he might have really ruined his career. I wish him the best and hope he can overcome this because he is very talented. Hang in there, Chris.

  • March 23, 2011 - 12:30am Janet Hobbs

After seeing the abuse all over Rihanna's face, it is difficult to move on. I truly wonder how she feels about this incident. I can't stand the other known abusers such as Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen. I used to like and respect them, but their behavior toward their loved ones was disgusting. All three of them need help immediately from an expert in domestic violence such as Patricia Evans.

  • March 22, 2011 - 11:32pm Kennadie Mandrell

On all accounts he knew before the interview that he was going to be asked questions about the incident. These celebrities think they can use the media to pump all their stuff and make their millions, but if they misbehave media should go away. He displayed anger management is not working for him, and his next steady girl better look close.

  • March 22, 2011 - 11:04pm Tanishia Jakitra Robbins

they just need to leave chris Brown alone..I would've broken a window too..they are both trying to move on and be sucessful..but the media wont let it go
