Us Rating: **

Poor David Cook. The rocker hasn't really lived up to his American Idol title since his season 7 win. And while his nimble guitar work and gruff voice are still in fine form on his second CD, they're squandered on yet another homogenous set of songs. Sadly, it's another forgettable collection of cliche-soaked lyrics ("We were born to live forever," he sings on "Right Here With You") scrawled over identical, by-the-numbers rock tracks. This is an amazing CD from beginning to end even the bonus songs are amazing. I don't know why everyone says this CD is getting alot of bad reviews all the reviews with the exception of this one has been positive

"This album has gotten many bad reviews"...seriously? Besides this lame excuse for a review could you please state your credible sources? TLM is excellent!

From Searchlights to Silver to The Truth to Lie to Life On The Moon to Permanent to Circadian to Right Here With You to 4 Letter Word oh woops you probably didnt even know these songs by David. You have no taste in music and im glad that the majority of the comments here are ACCURATE unlike your deluded review. This album is truly a masterpiece and i'm glad David took his time with it.

Not sure why you people are bashing the reviewer, this album has gotten many bad reviews- are they all biased and didn't listen to it? Not really, the proof is in the pudding.

Personally, I love the new album. But, everyone has their opinion. Thank you David, your music means a lot to me!!

I just bought the album, love the assortment/collection of songs...Ian, what were you thinking?

Where has Ian been? Cook's new CD is wonderful vocally & musically. It is a story from Circadian to Rapid Eye Movement. It's a journey of growth. This music is the kind that gets into your heart & brain then stays there until you are humming it in your sleep. Ian Drew just doesn't recognize crativity when it bites him in the Rumper-Dumper.

Poor Ian Drew. The reviewer simply has not lived up to his delusions of being an unbiased writer. Cook's album is very good; don't let this hack keep you from having a listen.

What a lame review! Maybe your employers should fire you.... And BTW, You didn't make your homework! What a shame! AOL music was steaming the album all this time, then you didn't give a damn about listening to it, and here you are writing a piece of CRAP about him! What a pity for people like you!

Your review is a general statement expressing your dislike of anything from David Cook. A professional should at least listen to the album and know enough about music to make comments which relate to specific musical sections. I love "This Loud Morning" because it takes the listener through a dream journey. The instrumentation and lyrics are complex. Music is an art form which is mostly ignored on pop radio.

Terrible careless review. No homework done. Just thrown together. Atrocious. Horrific.

  • June 29, 2011 - 9:52pm Mary McCulley

Well at least they posted a great photo of Cook. #Bestlookever.

Boring, boring, boooring!!! Only Cook die hard fans can apreciate it... I listened it on AOL & sure NOT downloading it! What a snoozefest!

  • June 29, 2011 - 7:34pm Chelsea Aguirre

I agree with most of the comments here. This album is way too awesome! I don't usually buy albums, but I'm glad I did for this one. You won't be able to appreciate it if you don't set aside your biases. I doubt you even listened to it. Get the title right first, if you want your readers to believe you.

"We were born to live forever"? Seriously? I never cared for Cook. I listened to the livestream on AOL and found it a boring, snoozer of a collection of songs. The guy always was boring though. Mr. Rocker lite when true rock and roll is just to satisfying.

  • June 29, 2011 - 6:33pm Ronald Mascot

You are over-rating it, the singing and guitar work aren't even that good. This is one of the worst albums ever, avoid it like anthrax.
