Wisteria Lane is prime real estate again! After the limp hijinks of recent seasons, Housewives has pulled itself together in its final run with snappy dialogue and compelling story lines that make the characters sizzle. Catch up: Bree (Marcia Cross), Susan (Teri Hatcher), Lynette (Felicity Huffman) and Gaby (Eva Longoria) have vowed to keep mum about a murder committed by Gaby's heroic husband, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira). In the December cliffhanger, Bree's cop fling (Jonathan Cake) put two and two together, only to be killed under fishy circumstances. Gaby's wickedly funny response in this return episode: "Lucky break!" Or not. Now the women wonder if someone in their circle is guilty. Their mutual suspicion adds more tension to a season that has seen these once-trusty friendships grow fascinatingly frayed. An alienated Bree actually plans on killing herself. But in scenes both heartrending and darkly witty, she realizes she was never truly alone, a point underscored by the cast's still-potent chemistry. Welcome home! (ABC, 9 p.m.)
