AIRS WEEKDAYS
James Franco (Spider-Man) has called his recurring role on the soap "performance art." Whatever. Since a jarring debut November 20 (it was hard for viewers to get past those matinee-idol cheekbones and focus on the story line), Franco has come to make his larger-than-life, creepy-avenger character sexy and exciting. Indeed, the actor has not only fit right in with the sudsy melodrama (love those passionate kissing scenes), but he seems to be inspiring GH's full-time cast to sharpen its game. 1WTH? The GH cast doesn't need James Franco to "sharpen" their game. The cast is already terrific, and besides that, Franco hasn't even interacted with most of the cast. Franco's "story" has been primarily with the one character the show's headwriter seems to be obsessed with himself, and that story is awful, boring, and laughable. I was excited about James Franco showing up but he has not impressed me.
