Kristin Scott Thomas inspires as a reporter investigating the 1942 disappearance of a girl -- seized by French police following Nazi orders -- in this suspenseful drama. The film shifts back and forth in time, showing the upheaval in the 10-year-old's life (the scene when a prison guard separates her from her mother is harrowing). Playing a determined woman whose mission rips apart her family, Scott Thomas gives a powerful performance.
