Review | The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Us Rating: **
Air Date: Sunday 11/6
Make that The Real Snores of Atlanta. Bewigged blonde diva Kim Zolciak is pregnant (she's 33; the father is 26-year-old NFL star Kroy Biermann!) and eating a lot in bed. Aging model Cynthia Bailey is launching her own agency and getting tired business tips from America's Next Top Model’s hammy J. Alexander. Singer Kandi Burruss is starting a sex-toy line, so she invites the gals to an "adult" shop. Sorry, but that's a setup as old as the genre itself. This once lively reality show's lamest moment, though, comes with some clumsy scenes involving lawyer Phaedra Parks and her new quest: After helping plan her great-aunt's funeral, she vows to become a mortician. Outlandish? Try depressing.
Thank goodness for NeNe Leakes. If there's one Atlanta lady who can ward off stupor, it's the bighearted yet blustery dynamo who helped make the most recent edition of The Celebrity Apprentice a must-see. She's accused of backstabbing by the show's resident nut job, would-be actress Sheree Whitfield. Leakes' reactions -- which start with an exasperated "Here we go, Star Jones!" and end with a disbelieving "She was hating on me so bad that she chased me out of the restaurant!" -- are at times hilarious, teary and a little scary. More of that, please! (Bravo, 10 p.m.)
