This rich romance features a sprightly Golden Globe-nominated performance from Emily Blunt as Queen Victoria in the rocky years just before and after she took the throne in 1837 at age 18. Blunt stretches far beyond her neurotic assistant in The Devil Wears Prada, and she's perfectly matched with Rupert Friend as her love, Prince Albert. The delicious film has it all: stunning costumes, an assassination attempt and, of course, waltzes. It's a thinking woman's date-night flick.
