Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey Spills the Biggest Behind-the Scenes Secrets of Season 8: Watch!

When Cynthia Bailey stopped by Us Weekly’s NYC offices for a video interview, she vowed to not throw shade (after all, she was wearing a pair of sunnies from her own eponymous line!)…but she still spilled all of the sweet tea on the Bravo show’s eighth — and explosive! — current season.

The model-turned-entrepreneur, 47, gave Us an update on how things stand with her husband, Peter Thomas. Their marriage, which fans have followed since Bailey’s season three debut, has experienced a few painful and public bumps in the road — especially after Thomas was caught on camera flirting with a patron at his Charlotte restaurant, Sports One, last summer.

But now, “we’re in a great place,” Bailey says. “We had a real serious conversation. At this point in the game, it’s been dealt with.”

In fact, many of her relationships are on the mend: She and Porsha Williams are on good terms after their episode 5 fight aboard a boat on Lake Lanier — which is a relief, because Bailey regrets the way things played out.

“I’ve never had a physical altercation in my life,” she reflects. “I didn’t feel good about it.”

That is why she stayed far away from the drama that unfolded during the Housewives’ trip to Miami. Bailey’s new friend, Tammy McCall Browning, brought her nephew Glen along, and after a long night of drinking, he ended up attacking Browning.

“Coming off my own incident, I was definitely not trying to be caught up in any nonsense,” she says. “The next morning when I got up, I heard about everything…it seemed like a situation where [Tammy] could’ve gotten hurt.”

Even though she’s embraced new friendships, Bailey’s still leaving room for older ones — specifically with the OG Georgia peach, NeNe Leakes, who finally wants to break the ice!

“We’re not best friends,” Bailey clarifies. “When we fell out, we didn’t talk for like two years.” The turning point was after Leakes’ season 7 reunion breakdown, where she cried over painful memories of her mother, to be comforted by Bailey.

“That opened up the door for us to be cool again,” Bailey says.

There are still a few episodes left in the season, but Bailey ensures that there’s no slowing down anytime soon. When asked to sum up the season in one word, she had three — “crazy as hell!”
