‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ Reunion Recap: Vicki Gunvalson Demands Shannon Beador Quit the Show, Kelly Dodd Won’t Apologize

Back together at last! The first part of the Real Housewives of Orange County season 11 reunion aired on Monday, November 7, and there was plenty of drama to go around — and not all of it was disco-theme. From cheating husbands to allegedly home-wrecking Housewives, this episode had it all.

The episode began with the Housewives getting ready backstage. Shannon Beador pronounced herself ready to “kick some ass,” Vicki Gunvalson bemoaned the necessity of playing “dirty” games and Heather Dubrow said she was excited to “clear the air.” Naturally, Andy Cohen paid them all visits in their dressing rooms to remind them that this was their “day of reckoning” for all of the times they were wronged. Way to stoke a fire that’s already blazing, Andy!

The OG Is Over It

The first topic that was addressed when they hit the couch was whether or not Vicki had an “eye job.” She enthusiastically revealed that not only did she have surgery to reshape her eyes, but she did it while this season was filming, and no one even realized! An equally excited Meghan King Edmonds then showed off the results of her latest procedure — her baby bump, courtesy of IVF!

Next, Andy brought up the way that Vicki spent the entire season apologizing for her involvement with ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers and his cancer scam. Vicki simply responded, “Who?” Still, the ladies were quick to point out that when they were in Ireland, she admitted to missing him.

Vicki asked repeatedly to stop talking about it, but Andy pushed on, grilling Kelly Dodd on why she was so quick to defend Vicki when everyone else was against her. The sly brunette revealed she had “binge-watched” all of RHOC prior to signing her contract for the show, so she’d done her research and knew her game plan going in.

When Shannon said she had no interest in being friends with Vicki anymore, the OG said, “Get off my show. You don’t like me? Get off my show!”

Tamra Judged

Tamra Judge revealed that she still hasn’t seen her daughter, but that they occasionally text. Tamra managed to keep it together and stay optimistic, explaining that since her baptism, her life has improved dramatically.

That was sweet and all, but not especially dramatic, so Andy hurled a question at Kelly. “Do you think she’s a good Christian?” he asked about Tamra. Of course, Kelly said no. When Tamra demanded to know why, Kelly called her two-faced. Next, the newest Housewife turned on Shannon, saying Shannon doesn’t know how to apologize. Tamra shot some rude zingers at Kelly in Shannon’s defense, so finally, Meghan jumped in and defended her friend, even though she was a few episodes and plot arcs too late.

Wedding Rows

Meghan herself was next on the chopping block, and it became her job to defend her husband, Jim Edmonds, for never being there during her IVF treatments. Moments later, a viewer-submitted question wondered if Jimmy would be a “hands-on dad” or a “Terry Dubrow” dad, and Heather was the one who had to defend her own husband. In spite of his refusal to spend time with his kids being a central plot point all season, she called him a “fantastic dad.”

When it came time for Kelly to talk about her relationship with her husband, she admitted she had regrets about how cruel she was to him (but had no regrets about how she treated the other ladies). She and Shannon both said that after watching the show, they saw how they treated their husbands and their friends, and worked to change their ways. Still, it wasn’t easy; Kelly revealed that after seeing the way she spoke about him in one episode, her husband, Michael, walked out and almost divorced her. Of all people, Vicki was the one who called and calmed him down!

Let’s Do the Time Warp Again

Finally, it was time to talk about the infamous ’70s party. Remember? Kelly claimed that Shannon invited some women from her past just to mess with her? Shannon said she would never do that? Tamra and Meghan kind of thought that Shannon would do that and did do that to Kelly? At the reunion, even Shannon admitted that her friends had it out for Kelly, but she still insisted she didn’t invite them there to be mean to her costars.

When Andy asked if Kelly was sorry for being nasty about David Beador cheating on Shannon, she asked when she had ever indicated she planned to play by the rules. Wow, Kelly! Shannon came prepared, though, and revealed that she had seen all the proof that Kelly herself had once broken up a marriage by dating a married man when she and Michael were separated. Shannon said the wife of the man she had been dating before reconciling with Michael had shown her the phone records proving she’d been cheated on.
