The Real Housewives of New York City didn't have a solid leg to stand on during the July 22 finale episode. In addition to the drama over Aviva Drescher's leg-throwing incident at Le Cirque, there was a bit of a dispute over Sonja Morgan's injured ankle—and, more specifically, how she came to be hurt it in the first place.
Morgan claimed she "sprained her leg" while running after boyfriend Harry Dubin and pal LuAnn de Lesseps, whom she allegedly spotted getting into a cab together after Carole Radziwill's birthday party. "Harry just left with Lu! He just left me in the dust!" she lamented to Kristen Taekman and Ramona Singer.
Fellow Housewife Heather Thomson suggested on Twitter, though, that there was more to the story. "PUHLEESE, why don't you tell us how you really hurt your foot?" she tweeted on Tuesday evening, hashtagging her post "#puttingtherealbackinreality."
Thomson followed that with several other tweets suggesting that Morgan was lying. "Here's 2 those really fakin it—we all went 2 the club together," she wrote, implying that de Lesseps and Dubin were part of a larger group. "Just try to make sense. Please," she added.
Later, on Watch What Happens Live, Thomson further clarified the situation for host (and Bravo exec) Andy Cohen. "We all left together," she insisted. "We all left Carole's birthday party together!"
Radziwill weighed in, too, tweeting during the episode that she was "definitely not on TeamSonja" in the whole debacle. "Not after the way she talked about my party!! &my ex &my career!" she wrote. "I don't think she's a well wisher!"
So what's the real story behind Morgan's injured ankle? A source tells Us Weekly she went to a nightclub, the Electric Room, after Radziwill's party, and "tripped and fell over a banquette" there.
Morgan, for her part, admits to being at the Electric Room on the night in question but says she "didn't fall on a banquette" at the club. "I tripped on the fishtail train of my dress, which was from here to Saint-Tropez," she tells Us.
