Robin Williams made one of his final appearances in the upcoming movie Absolutely Anything

Final lap. Robin Williams' final films have been arriving in theaters over the past year, and one of them, the upcoming feature Absolutely Anything, just got its first trailer.

Scheduled to hit theaters in August, Absolutely Anything is one of two Williams movies that have yet to see release. News broke last month that Starz Digital acquired rights to the other, the drama Boulevard, and will release the flick in July.

Williams' trademark zany, heartfelt humor is on full display in Absolutely Anything, which also stars Kate Beckinsale and Simon Pegg. The late star, who died at the age of 63 in August 2014, voices a dog in the offbeat comedy.

Williams' canine character of Dennis the Dog comes into play when a man named Neil (Pegg) gets magical abilities and uses them to make his dog speak English. The friendly pup helps guide Neil as he decides how to harness his powers, worrying the aliens who bestowed said skills on him.

The first preview opens with a cartoon of the otherworldly beings, one of whom explains, "One earthling will be picked at random to prove he can use absolute power for good. But if he uses it for evil, the Earth will be eliminated."

Neil is then shown exercising his powers, trying out all of the different ways he can change his life. Williams appears as a cute, furry pet, who first fixates on dog treats before serving as a voice of reason for his owner.

Other actors lending their voices to the project include stars of Monty Python — John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam — who play the group of alien leaders. The film's star Pegg spoke about his late collaborator this past September, reflecting on his spirit and his shocking suicide.

"I keep coming back to Robin Williams," he said in an interview with Variety. "I think about him a lot because he's someone that we all believed was this force of happiness and it just goes to show how indiscriminate depression is that when supposedly we have it all and are capable of such joyous behavior, it still is not good enough."
