She's putting the punch in punch line! Breakout MMA star Ronda Rousey is set to host Saturday Night Live for the first time January 23, and she'll be joined by musical guest Selena Gomez, NBC announced Tuesday, January 5.

Rousey, 28, had a turbulent 2015. She experienced new heights of stardom, as she was seen in films such as Furious 7 and Entourage. But she also endured her first defeat in the Octagon, shockingly losing in November to underdog Holly Holm in less than six minutes.

In a December interview with Rolling Stone, Rousey broke her silence on the Holm fight, admitting that she was "f–king sad" about the outcome.

Rousey continues a long-standing tradition of athletes hosting SNL, with Peyton Manning and Michael Jordan among those who have made memorable stints on the sketch comedy series.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Adam Driver hosts the January 16 episode, the week prior to Rousey's turn.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. EST.
