What's more romantic than being caught in the rain? In a sneak peek from the new movie Safe Haven, recent Southport, North Carolina resident Katie Feldman (Julianne Hough) and widowed store owner Alex Wheatley (Josh Duhamel) are forced to bring their rowboat to shore due to a sudden downpour.
"This is just a light shower," jokes Alex, who is responsible for raising two young children on his own. "It'll pass in a little bit."
Now soaking wet and seeking cover under a tree, the not-yet-together pair assess their options. Realizing the storm could go on for hours, Alex offers a suggestion. "What do you say we head back to a place where we can wait this out?" he asks. "What do you think?"
Katie agrees and the two begin to run, hand-in-hand, through the thicket. Soon after, Alex throws Katie over his shoulder as they head for shelter.
Safe Haven, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, is in theaters now.
