Sarah Palin's Alaska Not Renewed: Report

Sunday's season finale of Sarah Palin's Alaska is said to be the show's last episode, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The former Alaska governor's TLC reality series -- which premiered Nov. 14 -- averaged 3.2 million viewers per week, with its first episode delivering the network's best-ever launch ratings.

Coming under fire for her wildlife exploits, including caribou hunting and fishing too close to bears, Palin's Alaska also showcased the politician's children and husband, Todd.
The Palin family also hosted Kate Gosselin and her brood of eight for an ill-fated camping trip shown on the series.
A Gosselin source tells UsMagazine.com that the reality mom had "zero chemistry" with the former governor while taping the buzzed-about episode in July.

"They didn't speak off camera," the insider adds. "Kate said the food and accommodations were terrible, and it was the worst trip she'd ever been on."
Sarah Palin's Alaska airs its two-hour finale Sunday at 8 p.m. (EST) on TLC.

49I am so glad this will be her final show. I have never like that woman. i think she likes so much attention. I think she's trying to see if people like her in order to test the waters and run for the GOP as the next candidate for President. Tough she'll never make it.

Frankly, the show was canceled because it was contrived and unbelievable...and only 13% of Americans are Tea Party. Several points of untruth -- Sarah said she and her dad hunted all her life, but she knew nothing about bear safety - unrealistic for an Alaskan who been active in the outdoors. Also any true wild-outdoor person knows the fishing incident was totally irresponsible as a parent and used as a TV metaphor to promote mama bear and the cubs...100 feet is easily close enough for any bear, especially a female with cubs, to chase down anyone on land or water. In another show, Sarah obviously had never walked on tundra...the most common soil type in Alaska...and something an active outdoors Governor would know how to do. Finally - How often did the man of the house speak or take charge?...or did he stay out of camera and off mike 99% of the time simply to avoid putting his wife in a subservient position? No...the show was contrived to SELL BOOKS, and in a few months, Sarah will gracefully withdraw from the potential Presidential arena "on behalf of the welfare of her family" to live very well from the royalties. Good luck...
Ah, I do so wish that Kate had visited Alaska in the middle of a blizzard, and Sarah and she would be forced to resort to cannibalism. That would be Must See TV.
I watched the show and loved it. And no I am not someone who would vote for her as a president but yes I do like her as a person. If everyone would get over their pre-conceived opinions they would probably like the show also. But who am I to say anything? I can't get over the fact that Angelina stole Brad from Jennifer!

Who is Sarah Palin and why do we care that she likes to hunt and fish? She's a woman who ran for VP and lost, and she's a quitter. End of story.

Sarah Palin has been a hypocrit in that she professes to believe in and teach abstinence. However, she was pregnant when she and Todd married, and has a daughter who is an unwed mother. I don't believe I could trust her judgment in that she didn't accept sound medical advice in her personal life when she became pregnant past the age of 40 years. It's widely known that the likelihood of producing a handicapped child is VERY high at that age. If she won't accept sound advice in her personal life, it is unlikely she would accept sound advice as a government official. BTW, I'm glad she did not choose abortion even though she considered that option for a VERY short time. However, she wouldn't have had to face such a challenging decision had she given up her moments of pleasure or been a responsible birth control user. I know what I've said is NOT "politically correct". But this issue has been the elephant in the room for a VERY long time. Her hypocrisy, over-the-top rhetoric (remember the "cross-hairs" targetting map?), and unwillingness to accept experts' opinions are just three reasons why I cannot support her. I hope she will stop her over-the-top rhetoric, along with many others, considering the horrific event in Tucson this weeke-nd. Politics should be about principles, NOT personalities. She is just one who has made it about the latter in the last few years. I can only hope she will tone it down.
I never watched it, nor did I want to. I have never been able to stand the woman. As much as I dislike her, I have to say that I think she's all about showboating her stupid guns and her shoot anything that moves mentality. She's a phony, fake, bimbo! But, I don't think she ever meant for anyone to take her target lists and reload crap literally. What she did was stupid and irresponsible but that nut may have never even seen her target list crosshairs. He's nuts and he would have done this anyway. I have to be fair and say that much. Having said that, if they'll exile her to Siberia, I'll be a happy woman.
You people defending Palin and not understanding what we don't like about her... if you really want to know, it's this. She comes across as mean. Her very first day on the public stage, when she mocked then-candidate Obama for having been a community organizer, was mean-spirited. She has regularly said things like "Don't retreat - reload!" She posted a poster of politicians she was targeting for defeat - but used crosshairs, to indicate that she was really targeting them for another purpose altogether. Is she a nice person in private life? Is she down to earth? Only her family and friends know for sure. (Though her expensive shopping spree on the GOP campaign's dime suggests high-end tastes.) I will say one word in her defense. Lots of people like hunting. Lots of people eat meat. I wouldn't hold that against her. But that's about it.
I loved her show...I will truely miss her. It was amazing to see Alaska in it's true form.
Sarah had everything to do with that guy murdering those poor people and trying to take out that politician..so she deserves to be in prison

Please tell me what she has said specifically that makes you all hate her so much. Quit drinking the Marxist media Koolaid. She believes in small government, lower taxes, right to have a gun; All Conservative issues. Around 40% to 55% of the country have the political views, seriously why her, because she doesn't use political speak, but speaks from the heart. I'm not asking you to like her, but she's an American just like you.
