The Hippocratic Oath just might not be upheld! Fox's Scream Queens has received a second-season order, and the new batch of episodes will be set in a hospital, the network announced Friday, January 15.

The series' first season centered on murders on a college campus, but the new season will focus on fear generated by medical abnormalities. The return of the horror-comedy series — created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan — was announced by network heads Dana Walden and Gary Newman at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour in Pasadena, California.

"You'll meet people who have complex, sometimes bizarre cases," Newman told reporters. "This is something Ryan Murphy loves and had a lot of fun with on Nip/Tuck. And he, Brad and Ian are going to infuse that sensibility into the next chapter of this great anthology."

The execs acknowledged that the first season's live ratings were lower than they had hoped for, but said they were impressed by its DVR numbers. They added that some of the cast members from the first season are likely to return, although no names were mentioned.

"Ryan intends to bring some of the actors from the first installment back — I believe they will be the same characters," Walden said.

Scream Queens' 13-episode first season starred Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer and Diego Boneta.

The change in setting mirrors that of Murphy and Falchuk's FX series American Horror Story, which has altered themes each season and features some returning cast members but in new roles.
