You’re a wizard, Harry! Daniel Radcliffe’s audition video for Harry Potter went viral on Friday, Dec. 4, and it’s got Us spellbound.
The five-minute clip features original screen tests of the British actor, 26, auditioning for the beloved, blockbuster film franchise a little over 15 years ago.
Between takes, Radcliffe, who was around 11-years-old, laughs adorably as he recites lines to a person reading the script from the first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He even tosses a “dragon egg” back to the person reciting lines!
Last month, Radcliffe opened up about his problems with drinking after the Harry Potter films ended in 2011.
“I was living alone, and I think I was really freaked out,” he told Marc Maron on his WTF podcast on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The actor explained that his alcohol dependence resulted from what he described as a fear of returning to reality after playing J.K. Rowling’s popular boy wizard for more than a decade.
“I think it was more to do with going out in public and having a battle within me of thinking no, I can have a totally normal life,” he admitted. “You get bored of waking up feeling like that,” he said.
The eight Harry Potter films — based on Rowling’s bestselling book series — are the second-highest grossing film series of all time.
