Following Megan Fox's departure from the franchise, Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a likely candidate to play Shia LaBeouf's new love interest in Transformers 3.

Although the British beauty lacks acting experience, an insider tells UsMagazine.com that Huntington-Whiteley "has read for the part and is a frontrunner for the role."

According to TheWrap.com, Huntington-Whiteley is currently dating actor Jason Statham.

On May 20, Paramount Pictures confirmed that Fox, 24, would not be returning to the third installment of the $1.5 billion-grossing franchise.

Studio execs said that it had "exercised its option not to put [Fox] in the movie" -- but the actress, through her rep, told Us that she "left on her own accord."

Prior to her departure, Fox and director Michael Bay had traded barbs in the press: she called him "a nightmare to work with," and he spat back that she was "dumb as a brick" and "ungracious."

people you don't get it. michael isn't looking for talent to fill the role of a girl that's just meant to be eye-candy for the movie. megan may be pretty and all but she's ungrateful and mean. i don't know much about this new girl but i've been googling pics and she's way hotter, she's taller, she's british (hoping for a sexy accent) and her pout is real (no trashy excess amounts of lip plumper needed on her like what megan wore in T2)

I think Megan and the director need to workout their differences. If anyone should replace Megan, it should be AnnaLynne Mccord. She was great in Transporter 2, CSI Miami, and American Heiress.

Let me tell you sth, Transformers without Megan Fox is like a song without the rythm, is like a glass of water WITHOUT THE WATER. and they didn't even replace Megan for a well-known actress, is this brainless blonde model of Victoria's Secret? REALLY? I would have put Olivia Wilde, like Kate down there said, or may be Katie Cassidy. Now, Megan may not be the best actress, but she has something that can set on fire the entire world, she's foxy, and if you think about it, that's the point of mikaela on the movie! being hot. Huntington-Whitely is just a random cute girl with no charisma on her! If this was Bay's idea, he missed by a lot! and if this girl is finally picked to play Shia's love interest in Transformers 3, I won't be seeing it, even if it is on 3D, that's for sure.
