Shanna Moakler’s “Faith Restored” After Carrie Prejean Loses Her Crown

Shanna Moakler is speaking out after Donald Trump fired Miss California Carrie Prejean Wednesday for breach of contract.

"First and foremost, my faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with [pageant owner] Donald Trump," Moakler — who resigned her position as Miss California pageant director last month — tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.

"I believed eventually what I intimately knew would come to fruition," continues Moakler.

Pageant director Keith Lewis announced that Prejean, 22, lost her crown because she failed to honor her commitments (she apparently skipped multiple pageant appearances). She will be replaced by runner-up Miss Malibu Tami Farrell, effective immediately.

Trump — who originally allowed Prejean to keep her crown despite revelations that she had posed in her underwear as a teen — said he was standing by Lewis' decision. "I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in a statement obtained by RadarOnline.com. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen, and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision."

Prejean has been a target of controversy ever since she denounced gay marriage at the April 19 Miss USA pageant. She claimed she lost the pageant because she told judge Perez Hilton that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
