During an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Sherri Shepherd suggested Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving The View, but then backtracked on her comment.

Slip of the tongue? During a Monday, June 17, appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, host Wendy Williams questioned Sherri Shepherd on the major cohost changes taking place on The View — and Shepherd may have accidentally confirmed Elisabeth Hasselbeck's departure.

"Oh my gosh girl, so many changes! I can't believe it!" Shepherd, 46, said of cohosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg. "The two black women are left. Usually they kill us off in the beginning."

"So if the two black women are left, then you've just confirmed that Hasselbeck is out," Williams said.

Both Behar and Walters have confirmed they will be leaving the ABC daytime talk show. Us Weekly exclusively revealed in March that Elisabeth Hasselbeck will not be returning as a cohost, but she has yet to confirm the news.

"No, I did not," Shepherd backtracked on her remark. Williams then quipped, "She put her foot in her mouth!"

"She's going to be there," Shepherd insisted. "We're all going to be there next season."

Behar had said she would be leaving the show when her contract expires in August, while Walters announced she will retire in summer 2013.
