Talk about going boldly! The new trailer for Star Trek Beyond, starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, and Zachary Quinto, was released on Monday, December 14, and it looks beyond amazing.

The trailer opens with the USS Enterprise being completely decimated during a battle. "We have no ship," Pine (as Captain Kirk) says in the opening sequences of the clip as the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage" plays. "No crew. How are we going to get out of this one?"

Members of the heroic Enterprise crew — including Sulu (John Cho), Chekov (Anton Yelchin) and Bones (Karl Urban) — attempt to save themselves and the entire human population from destruction as they face a sophisticated and scary new villain. Beast of No Nation actor Idris Elba will play the main antagonist in the upcoming installment of the science-fiction/ fantasy franchise.

J.J. Abrams, who directed the Star Trek film reboot installments, won't be on board for a third film. He instead helmed Disney's upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has already shattered box office records. In his stead, Fast & Furious director Justin Lin has filled the director's chair and brought his trademark action-packed style to the flick.

Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22, 2016. Watch the trailer above!
