Thursday's episode of The Colbert Report is, unexpectedly, a rerun.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 16," Comedy Central spokesman Steve Albani said in a statement.

After a couple hours of confusion, a source told the Wall Street Journal that the comic's satirical, political show's sudden suspension was due to an emergency in Colbert's family.

In its seven year run, The Colbert Report has only suspended taping once to poke fun at Senator John McCain after he suspended his presidential campaign in 2008.

The popular series debuted in October 2005. Colbert has yet to address the show's temporary cancellation via his popular Twitter account.
