Taco Bell Is Helping You “Live Mas” Lazy by Offering Delivery in More Than 90 Cities Starting Today

Taco Bell is now offering delivery.

Yo quiero? You got it! Taco Bell announced on Wednesday, July 8, that it is delivering its Mexican eats in more than 90 cities, and the service will be available in more than 200 stores. The fast-food chain is partnering with delivery service DoorDash to bring tacos, burritos, chalupas, and more straight to consumers’ homes starting today.

“Delivery is yet another example of how we’re using technology and innovation to respond to consumers’ wants and needs, further evolving the Taco Bell experience for customers,” Brian Niccol, Taco Bell’s CEO, said in a press release. “Taco Bell has always been about value and convenience, and we believe delivery is the next step in catering to today’s on-demand culture that’s driving consumer behavior.” He also noted that offering a delivery service has been patrons’ “No. 1 request.”

Cities where Taco Bell is now delivering include Los Angeles, Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Dallas. According to the company’s press release, the goal is to eventually offer delivery nationwide. Prices and delivery costs will depend on restaurant location. Customers will be able to place their orders via DoorDash’s app and website.

Initial reaction to the news seemed positive on Twitter, with many fans celebrating the news and asking Taco Bell to start offering the delivery service in their hometowns.

But it seems there may be some glitches to work out in this early stage. Some customers who tried out the new service expect their fast food to be, well, fast, not to mention cheap.

Another wrote on Taco Bell’s Facebook page that while they were excited to try the service, DoorDash charged 76 cents more than Taco Bell does for a quesarito. “I would have understood if DoorDash was upfront about their prices to utilize the service but the fact that they ‘secretly’ increase the cost of the actual food is a sorry business model,” wrote Andrew Taylor. “This service won’t perform well if your delivery partner ‘nickel and dimes’ your food to hide their service fees.
