Cherish the thought, Tay! Two weeks after Madonna paid her a compliment on Australia's Today show, Taylor Swift still can't get over the fact that the Queen of Pop actually listens to and enjoys her music.
Access Hollywood caught Madge on the red carpet at the 2015 Grammys, where she echoed what she'd said before about Swift. "She writes some damn catchy pop songs," the "Living for Love" singer, 56, told red carpet correspondent Shaun Robinson. "Can't get them out of my head."
Asked which one was her favorite, the Material Girl said, "The one where she growls in the middle. She gets kind of crazy!" (She also agreed that "Shake It Off" is "a good one.")
A few minutes later, it was Swift's turn to chat with Robinson. Told that Madonna had said "some really nice things" about her, the 25-year-old pop princess freaked out on camera.
"Stop! I will pass out. You can't — don't be lying!" she raved, a little breathless. "Oh my God. Oh my God! I've been so scared to meet her because it means so much to me. When she first said something nice about me in the press a couple of weeks ago, I was like, 'There's no way it's real, it's too good to be real!'"
It goes without saying, of course, that Swift is a fan of Madonna, too. During the "Give Me All Your Luvin" singer's matador-themed performance at the Grammys on Sunday night, the cameras panned to the "Shake It Off" songstress, who was on her feet and unabashedly rocking out.
The two finally met backstage at the show, and posed together for a photo (in which Swift towers over the more diminutive Madonna). Madge shared the pic on her Instagram, writing, "Shaking it up backstage at the Grammys with Taylor!!" Added Swift, via her own Twitter: "Madonna is now a person I've met."
