Let the countdown begin! Taylor Swift gave fans a sneak peek of her “Out of the Woods” music video on Wednesday, December 30. The “Style” singer is set to premiere the highly anticipated footage during Ryan Seacrest's New Year's Rockin' Eve.
Swift, 26, shared a screenshot from her video via Twitter. “Are we out of the woods yet?” she captioned the pic.
In the photo, the star appears to be, well, in the woods. She’s muddy, dirty and is crouching down. Her wet hair is tousled in front of her face.
Swift opened up about the song — and the ex who may have inspired the lyrics — during an interview with GQ magazine back in October. The tune is rumored to be about One Direction’s Harry Styles, but Swift has never revealed the juicy details. (Swift and Styles dated from October 2012 to January 2013.)
"The No. 1 feeling I felt in the whole relationship was anxiety. Because it felt very fragile, it felt very tentative. And it always felt like, 'OK, what's the next roadblock? What's the next thing that's gonna deter this?’” she said at the time.
She added: “I think a lot of relationships can be very solid and that's kind of what you hope for, for it to be solid and healthy, but that's not always what you get. And it doesn't mean that it's not special and extraordinary just to have a relationship that's fragile and somehow meaningful in that fragility."
Ryan Seacrest's New Year's Rockin' Eve airs on ABC Thursday, December 31, at 8 p.m. ET.
