Even a premiere date announcement can cause some drama! Teen Mom 2 season 7 is on its way, with MTV confirming to Us Weekly on Thursday, February 11, that the new season will premiere on Monday, March 21.
The first full trailer has not been released yet, but that hasn’t stopped the show’s stars from commenting on the next installment of the popular reality series.
“I’m excited for this upcoming season!” Jenelle Evans wrote in response to a fan. “Everyone can see how happy I am! So happy to be able to smile everyday.”
In the season 6 finale of Teen Mom 2, Evans, 24, was still engaged to Nathan Griffith, and was in what reunion host Dr. Drew Pinsky called an “abusive relationship.”
Fortunately, the pair called things off, and Evans found love again with her current boyfriend, David Eason.
While the MTV wild child is excited to show off her more grounded, mature life, not all of the show’s stars are pleased with the network.
“LOVE when I’m a part of something and people don’t tell you big dates/important things! So professional,” Kailyn Lowry tweeted shortly after the news broke on Thursday.
Lowry, 23, and Evans recently got into an online tiff over Evans’ interview with Us Weekly about her decision not to get plastic surgery. The North Carolina native also commented on Lowry’s recent surgery, saying, “She looks great, and I’m happy [for her]. Whatever makes her happy. That’s her choice. It’s just not mine. It’s her decision. It’s her body. No one can tell her what to do.”
Lowry didn’t appreciate the comments, later tweeting, “When your cast mates subtly throw shade at you it’s cool though.”
Teen Mom 2 also stars Chelsea Houska and Leah Messer. Season 7 premieres on MTV on Monday, March 21.
