“We have a deal with Live Nation, which is the touring company, and we just signed a nine-show deal to do sort of like a test run in Vegas with the residency,” the eternal heartthrob, 36, said of the boy band’s upcoming concert series. “So that’s definitely going to happen, but we’re going to do a trial run first.”

While a venue has yet to be announced, the “Larger Than Life” singer already knows that he wants BSB’s new shows to be, well, larger than life.

“It would definitely have to be a very big and spectacular show,” Carter, who is expecting his first child with his wife, Lauren Kitt, added. “Thankfully, we have a good catalog so we can perform all of our hits. That could take up a lot of the show.”

Even more exciting? All five original members — Carter, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean — are on board to participate. The guys will be joining other iconic acts of the late-’90s and early-aughts in Las Vegas such as Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.

ET also caught up with Richardson, 44, who expressed his excitement for the Backstreet Boys’ next chapter.

“It seemed really convenient for the family! A Vegas residency, now that we’re all fathers, could be very convenient for us … We won’t have to travel so much,” he said, adding, “We’re definitely in the studio recording a brand new album.”

BSB isn’t the only pop power group to reunite in 2016. As Us Weekly exclusively reported on March 25, the Spice Girls will hit the road this year in honor of their 20th anniversary.

While Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm have all signed on to take part in an impending tour, their fifth counterpart, Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, has yet to be convinced.

A source told Us that Beckham, 41, “doesn’t want to do it,” but another insider said, “There’s a small chance she’ll film something with them or make an appearance at a show here and there.”
