‘The Biggest Loser’ Star Dolvett Quince’s Recap: Team’s Results ‘Made Me Not Happy’

After a strong start last week on The Biggest Loser, we had no intention of slowing down, and you saw it on the January 11 episode!

A big theme of this season is temptation, and for this week’s first challenge, you saw us quiz the contestants on the nutritional stats (or lack thereof) of their favorite junk foods. The winning team got to remove one person from the opposite team from the weigh-in. Luckily, my red team won (making this our second consecutive challenge win), but not before I had to eat a serving of nachos in order to spare Toy and Jacky from eating it … no bueno.

At the weigh-in, my team posted OK numbers  OK, but not great. Whitney lost zero, so it all came down to Jacky, who needed to lose 8 pounds or more to keep the red team safe. Unfortunately, she only lost 3. So the red team lost the weigh-in for a second week in a row, which made me not happy. My team gave it their all, but it was not reflected on the scale. Ultimately, Jacky and Whitney fell below the yellow line, and Whitney got sent home. But did you see how great she looks now? I’m so proud of her and her 31-pound loss — the journey definitely did not end after her two weeks on the ranch.

But back in the elimination room, to add insult to injury, right after Whitney leaves, Felicia decides to throw shade at yours truly. It was time to have a serious conversation as a team … everyone aired their grievances, which made me realize that my team needs tools that extend beyond the workouts and weigh-ins — learn to be successful in life. We need to find our trust in each other as a team. I thought it was a great moment for us, and we can ultimately rebuild to work together moving forward.

And speaking of pulling together as a team, the second challenge showed everyone pulling food trucks. The winner is whichever team can pull all three trucks across the finish line and will receive a cooking course from chef Lorena Garcia. The losing team had to eat from the food trucks they were pulling for the week. Unfortunately, this challenge ended our competition winning streak. Yet another reason we needed to come together as a team and not as individuals, which we started to find in our workouts.

This week, we saw The Biggest Loser’s very first last-chance challenge, where the winning team gets a 2-pound advantage at the weigh-in. Sadly, the winner was not the red team. So we had to take it to the scale. Lo and behold! The red team finally wins our first weigh-in! We needed this win to validate all of our hard work both in and out of the gym, and we did it! I was so proud.

Are you proud of the red team too? What did you think of those nutrition facts on your favorite junk food? Any of you eating nachos anytime soon?!

The Biggest Loser airs on NBC Mondays at 9 p.m. EST. Dolvett Quince has been a trainer on the show since season 12 and is recapping each season 17 episode for Us Weekly.
