Tissues are a requirement for The Fault in Our Stars' new extended trailer, even if terminally ill main character Hazel Grace (Shailene Woodley) probably wouldn't want tears being shed in her name.
The film adaptation, which is based off John Green's bestselling young adult novel, has already created a band of loyal followers as fans excitedly wait to see Hazel's love story with Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort) come to life on the big screen.
The extended trailer features flashes of several key scenes from the book, including Augustus explaining why he carries an unlit cigarette in his mouth, the couple's romantic date in Amsterdam, and the epic egging of Isaac's ex-girlfriend's car.
From the short clips alone, devoted fans of the book should be pleased to note that the film appears religiously faithful to the book.
Woodley shines as the unconventional leading lady, and Elgort, who played her brother Caleb in 2014's Divergent, is a natural fit as her confident, charismatic boyfriend.
The Fault in Our Stars hits theaters on June 6.
